Rialto Theatre

Address: 5723 Avenue Du Parc, Montreal, QC See map...
Neighbourhood: Mile-End
Possibly the most visually stunning of major local venues, the Rialto Theatre on Parc has also recently re-opened its doors after nearly three years and countless dollars worth of renovations. We can do anything at the Rialto now, says owner Louis Calogeras, wedding ceremonies, concerts, theatre screenings. I just want to be selective about who I rent the venue out to. I could have something in here seven nights a week but I want to be sure whoever I rent it to doesnt destroy the place. Its so beautiful and Ive spent an awful lot of money on it with all the new renovations. Said renovations include a rockin new sound system and so many minor structural and ornamental details that Calogeras says, Youve got to actually see it to understand just how much work has gone into the place. With a capacity of just over 1,000 seats, the revitalized Rialto promises to once again reclaim its stature as one of the most glorious mid-sized venues this city has to offer. www.montrealmirror.com

The Moderno Trio performs 'He Loved The Soft Porn Of The City' at St. Amboise Montreal Fringe 2012 The Moderno Trio brings their debut concept album He Loved The Soft Porn Of The City tour to St. Amboise Montreal Fringe Festival showcasing new music inspired by a blend of 80's New Wave, Fusion Jazz, and World Beat. The exciting, upbeat, and sensual show plays six performances at Le Cabaret du Mile End in June 2012. The show, which also features dance, film and complex lighting/stage design, was inspired by collaboration with Danish composer, Morten Skovgaard Danielson, the eccentric genius, who upon completing his punk classical opera, 'Donalds 09', committed suicide. He Loved The Soft Porn Of The City will run June 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24. Tickets are $10 CAD, $8 CAD for students and porn stars. Moderno Trio Creating music for people who live passionately!
