Skrillex Full Flex Express Tour in Montreal
After an amazing concert at the Bluesfest in Ottawa on July 14th, the Full Flex Express Tour headed east to Montreal, our beloved city. An amazing re-invented touring concept, masterminded by the one and only Skrillex. His idea was simple; he wanted to recreate The Festival Express which took place in the 70’s, along the same route.

Arriving on site, we could definitely feel how this event was going to turn out : mind blowing.

Opening acts of the tour featured artists such as Hundred Waters, Tokimonsta and Grimes. We had the chance to catch a glimpse of one of LA’s most anticipated female DJ/producers, Tokimonsta. Her latest tracks, which, familiar to her style, had deep vocals put together on a very solid frame of 80’s synth and catchy drum lines. Following on the main stage after Hundred Waters was Vancouver native turned Montreal resident, Claire Boucher aka Grimes, who released some powerful screams and vocals to a heavy machined beat. It’s the marriage of those two specific sound features that defines Grimes’ style, whom the crowd seemed more than pleased with.

It was around 6 o’clock and the ground of the main stage was already starting to overflow. After a few preparations, the next act begins.
This man had a crowd he could work with.

Diplo drops in the mix with a mind-blowing amount of energy.

His classic link of catchy yet popular rap/pop vocals mixed in with “the cream of the crop” of Major Lazer’s releases, caught everybody in what I call “the Diplo effect”.

The crowd went absolutely nuts, as did I! This guy just killed his set. From his music, to his entertainment, to crowd surfing, without mentioning one of my personal favorite garment by Givenchy, this man went absolutely above any expectations. SOLID CROWD PLEASER.
After this great performance, people were fueling up to welcome our next act… with reason.
Lighting equipment was tested and ready to rock on the main stage. Brace yourselves: Pretty Lights hits the stage with his deep cuts surrounded by a beautiful mix of synths and clear drums. Remixed horns and funky sounds are mixed to an extraordinary lighting show, which creates an awe-inspiring output. This crowd has now achieved nirvana.
Simultaneously they get hit with crisp clear sounds and incredible visuals. What more can you ask for? I present you Pretty Lights.

It’s with great hype that Montreal’s Full Flex Express crowd anxiously waits for
Skrillex.

Does this train captain ever deliver. WOW! In the cockpit of his LED illuminated spacecraft Mister S guides his troops, with the help of his soundtracks, to an astonishing finish wrapping up this memorable day. Pictures cannot do justice to the immensity of his presentation. Simply amazing.
