Jean-Louis Murat
with Jimmy Hunt Duo
By popular demand, Murat returns two years after his last stop at the FrancoFolies, when he rolled out Cours Ordinaire des Choses, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.
Now, the Auvergne native and faithful companions Fred Jimenez and Stéphane Reynaud bring us Grand Lièvre, 10 songs recorded in near-live conditions, with touches of electric piano here and there and, surprise, a male chorus. Superb.
Opening the show, Jimmy Hunt, in a duo, returns to the Francos with country-tinged folk, halfway between French chanson and romantic blues. We love it!
Jean-Louis Murat (born January 28th 1952 in La Bourboule, France), is a well-known singer, composer, lyricist and guitarist who has also done some acting (in Jacques Doillon’s 1990 film La Vengeance d’une Femme). Murat is a cultivator of a specific style, a certain musical aesthetic. Haunting and often sensual moods characterize his music.
